Derek Gleason

Derek Warren Gleason (born August 3, 1981) is an author, screenwriter, and songwriter American Musician. He is known within the industry for his D.I.Y. business ethics.

Over the years he has toured and performed in numerous musical projects: The Tuxedo Arrangement, Short Wave Radio, Uziel, among many others.

In 2004 he moved from Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania to Boston, Massachusetts where he attended Northeastern University. While in school he began a career in music marketing at the now defunct V2 Records, where he was head of marketing for the Boston area. Shortly after he became involved in music management and opened the company FOF Management, Inc. His first client Protokoll was his main focus.

During this time he also worked as a tour manager. This took him to various parts of the world including: UK, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, along with many other countries. His main dealings were in the UK working closely with BBC. He soon developed a close relationship with legendary BBC DJ Steve Lamacq. He set out to book a full UK for Protokoll and on their first tour managed to book a headlining gig at the legendary KOKO in London.

His area of business expertise is in marketing, promotions, management, and tour management. His primary instrument is the drums, but also dabbles in piano.

He has written numerous screenplays, short stories, and poems and is in the process of writing his first feature length novel.

He currently attends Penn State University.

Through these experiences it has single handedly shaped him into the man that he is today. Some of Derek's most notable jobs are a Stage hand for the off Broadway performance of Eddie Murphy's "coming to American, Cobra Kie instructor, maple syrup door to door salesman and a Fish semen collector to note a few. He now works as a cabinetry salesman enjoying weekends off an indoor plumbing.
