Wei Liucheng

Biography

Wei was born in Biyang County, Henan in 1946. He has worked in China's petroleum industry for more than 30 years. In 1998, Wei was appointed the general manager of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Wei moved to Hainan in October 2003. He was appointed the Governor of Hainan in February 2004 and served in that position until February 2007.

Wei was appointed the Communist Party of China Committee Secretary of Hainan in 2006 and was re-elected by the Hainan People's Congress on January 29, 2008.
