Merritt Centennials of theBritish Columbia Hockey League . He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 4th round, 55th overall in the1976 NHL Entry Draft .Glendinning spent the 1973-74 season in the
Alberta Junior Hockey League with theCalgary Canucks before moving onto the WHL'sCalgary Centennials for two seasons. He turned pro the following season with theDayton Gems of the IHL, playing two seasons before retiring. Glendinning made a brief return to competitive hockey in the 1985-86 season, playing three games with the Nelson Maple Leafs of theWestern International Hockey League .Glendinning returned to hockey prior to the 1995-96 season as an assistant coach with the
Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. He remained in that position through the 1997-98 season.He was named as the head coach of the
Merritt Centennials on January 7, 2002 and remains in that position today. Under Glendinning, the Centennials have made the playoffs for six of the past seven seasons. He also earned the Joe Tennant Trophy as BCHL coach of the year following the 2005-06 season.References
