The following is a list of Canada's busiest airports by aircraft movements (how busy the runways are) and passengers traffic (how busy the terminals are). For each airport, the lists cite the principal city associated with the airport by Transport Canada, not (necessarily) the municipality where the airport is physically located.
Toronto Pearson International Airport, is the busiest airport in Canada, and was also the only Canadian airport ranked in the top 30 airports in the world by number of passengers in 2006.
In 2007, 94.5 million passengers travelled through Canada's ten largest airports.
In total there are 42 airports with an air traffic control (ATC) tower and 53 airports with a Flight Service Station (FSS).
Some airports of note are Fort McMurray Airport with 68,924 movements making it the 31st busiest airport in Canada and the busiest airport without a control tower. Vancouver Harbour Water Airport, the only water based airport in Canada to have a control tower, Vancouver Harbour Control Tower, with 63,713 movements is the 33rd busiest airport overall. Greater Moncton International Airport (61.0%), Charlottetown Airport (58.7%) and Gander International Airport (44.7%) posted the largest gains in terms of movements. At the same time Rouyn-Noranda Airport (-22.8%), Peace River Airport (-23.4%) and La Ronge (Barber Field) Airport (-24.2%) posted the biggest losses.
