The thirty world's busiest airports by passenger traffic are measured by number of total passengers (data provided by Airports Council International). One passenger is described as someone who arrives in, departs from, or transfers through the airport on a given day.
2008 year-to-date statistics
Airports Council International's year-to-date figures are preliminary. The following are for the months January to June 2008 [http://www.airports.org/cda/aci_common/display/main/aci_content07_c.jsp?zn=aci&cp=1-5-212-218-222_666_2__] Figures should be read with caution as airports around the world may experience peak travel in differing months. Current year-to-date growth statistics may be a poor representation of full-year growth, and may be subject to major changes as time progresses.
