The borough was named in 1889 forCornelius Campbell , the first superintendent of theGlenwood Coal Company ("glen" is the Scottish word for "valley"), which mined in that area. The name has no relationship to the modern singerGlen Campbell , though he did visit here in 1971.Geography

There were 125 housing units at an average density of 133.9/sq mi (51.9/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 100.00% White.There were 109 households out of which 28.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.7% were married couples living together, 14.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 27.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the borough the population was spread out with 22.9% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 22.5% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 23.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.0 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $24,063, and the median income for a family was $31,875. Males had a median income of $24,167 versus $14,688 for females. The
