The Mark V monorail is a design model of
monorail trains, utilized by theDisneyland Monorail System at theDisneyland Resort in Anaheim,California , USA. They have been in use since 1987, replacing theMark III monorail . They were built byRide & Show Engineering, Inc. of San Dimas. The design is based on theMark IV monorail used at theWalt Disney World Resort on itsWalt Disney World Monorail . The trains consist of five cars.The trains are currently being phased out for the
Mark VII monorail , the first of which is already on Disneyland Resort property, and is expected to go into service in Spring 2008.Design
The Mark V monorails were the second of the "
Learjet " styled monorails used for Disney, based on the design of theBombardier Mark IVs in service at Walt Disney World. However, the Mark Vs are smaller in capacity and size, being narrower and shorter in height than the Mark IV.
