Melanie Kay Turner (born November 19, 1984) is an American musical theatre actress.
Turner grew up in Derby, Kansas and attended Wichita State University in the Musical Theatre BFA program and later transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a BA in Theatre Performance.
She began performing at Music Theatre of Wichita in Cinderella, directed by Mark Madama. Later she joined a band called Lip Survis led by Exile’s Randy Rickman. Later the group separated itself from his name and went out on their own. Turner left for Las Vegas in 2005 and the band is still together, although not with its original members. Amanda Kramme, another member of Lip Survis, later married and left the group as well.
Notable performances by Turner include Jerry Springer the Opera at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Beacher’s Madhouse at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Pippin at the Anheuser-Busch Theatre, Sweet Charity directed by Jim Carey and choreographed by Dana Moore, and Fiddler on the Roof directed by Mindy Cooper.
Currently Turner is living and working in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also on the board of advisors for Musical Actor’s Theatre in Las Vegas.
