As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 2,047 people, 756 households, and 597 families residing in the township. Thepopulation density was 110.0 people per square mile (42.5/km²). There were 787 housing units at an average density of 42.3/sq mi (16.3/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.34% White, 0.68% African American, 0.05% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 0.10% from other races, and 0.68% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.88% of the population.There were 756 households out of which 35.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.5% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.9% were non-families. 17.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the township the population was spread out with 25.9% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 102.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.7 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $45,000, and the median income for a family was $49,659. Males had a median income of $32,854 versus $23,750 for females. The
