Vincent Ryan (born Dublin, Ireland October 25, 1935), also known as Vinnie Ryan, was an Irish footballer. Ryan played as defender for Home Farm, Celtic and St Mirren. Early Years

As a schoolboy Ryan played football for Home Farm. He was spotted by a Manchester United scout. Matt Busby called at his home to sign the young Ryan but negotiations failed and Ryan went on to sign for Celtic F.C. a year later for a fee of one thousand pounds.
