St. Petersburg - 15 September 1896 ,St. Petersburg ) was a Russianentomologist .Dr. Ferdinand Ferdinandovitsch Morawitz worked mainly onHymenoptera .He is best known for his work on the bees of Russia andCentral Asia . He was one of the prominent entomologists associated with theZoological Museum of the Russian Academy of Science where his brotherAugust Feodorovitsh Morawitz (22 August 1837St. Petersburg - 16 September 1897 , Blankenburg) wasCurator of the insect collections.He was a member of theRussian Entomological Society .His collection is shared between the Zoological Museum in St. Petersburg and the Zoological Museum ofOdessa University .Works
