"Liarea aupouria aupouria" is a subspecies of land snail, a terrestrial gastropod mollusc in the family Liareidae. It is the largest species in its genus.

Distribution

This subspecies is endemic to New Zealand, found at Cape Maria van Diemen and North Cape at the far north of the North Island.

hell description

The shell spire is twice to 2.25 times the height of the aperture. The whorls are broad and there is a narrow apertural flange.

The shell colour pattern is hydrophanous, ranging from simple broad reddish-brown axial streaks to complicated zigzags and chevrons.

Shell height is up to 13.2 mm, and width up to 6 mm.
