According to the
United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 22.1square mile s (57.2km² ), of which, 22.1 square miles (57.1 km²) of it is land and 0.05% is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 848 people, 308 households, and 244 families residing in the township. Thepopulation density was 38.4 people per square mile (14.8/km²). There were 365 housing units at an average density of 16.5/sq mi (6.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 99.17% White, 0.24% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.24% Asian, and 0.24% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.24% of the population.There were 308 households out of which 33.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.8% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.5% were non-families. 16.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.07.
In the township the population was spread out with 28.9% under the age of 18, 4.2% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.7 males.
