The University of Denver (DU)'s Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) is graduate school located in Ben Cherrington Hall (BCH) on the DU campus.

=About the school=

History

DU created the Department of International Relations, one of the first in the country, in 1929. [ [http://www.du.edu/gsis/advantage/index.html About the GSIS] (accessed April 14, 2008)] This department became the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) in 1964, under the leadership of Josef Korbel, father of former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. In a 2006/2007 survey performed by the College of William and Mary and published by Foreign Policy magazine, the Koerbel School of International Studies ranked 9th in the nation for graduate programs, ahead of such schools as Syracuse, University of Chicago, Yale, Stanford, University of California-Berkeley, and MIT.
