Rocky Mountains of northernColorado in theUnited States .The lake is located within
Rocky Mountain National Park along the boundary between Grand and Larimer counties. The lake straddles thecontinental divide and feeds the headwaters of theCache la Poudre River and is the source of the Colorado River. The pass does not carry a road, but is traverseable by a hiking trail which allows foot access to Rocky Mountain National Park from thePoudre Canyon to the north.
