The company was established on
20 March 1970 and the charter subsidiary was established and started operating in June 1974. It is wholly owned by Barry Lapointe Holding. In 1995, during the tumultous airline industry upheaval in Canada, Kelowna Flightcraft partnered with the short-livedGreyhound Air . [ Grescoe 2004, p. 65.] Flying surplusBoeing 727 airliners, the brief interlude into scheduled "low fare" airline service met with public acceptance but a variety of economic and regulatory factors eventually led to the demise of the partnership. 30 March 2005 , Kelowna Flightcraft was awarded a $1.77 billion contract to lead a team of Canadian companies called Allied Wings provide primary flight training for theCanadian Forces Air Command at Southport at the former CFB Base Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
