Emma Baker

Emma Baker is a journalist who works as a reporter for ITV Anglia, and who regularly presents the early morning GMTV news bulletins for the Anglia region, as well as presenting Anglia news at the weekends.

Controversy

She made the headlines herself after she was shown joking with colleagues and checking her appearance, without realising she was live on air on the morning of Monday 2007-01-15. Anglia spokesman Jim Woodrow believed that a viewer misheard Baker refer to a colleague as "Mrs Shameless", and that she was actually referring to an editor named Seamus. According to the Press Gazette, Mr Woodrow said: "A switching error led to viewers seeing some light-hearted banter involving our presenter Emma Baker and our production team. There was nothing said which we feel might have upset the viewers." Baker is reported to have chatted for more than three minutes, before being told of the mistake and starting to read the news.
