Pallavan Express

Pallavan Express is a superfast train operated by Southern Railway, which connects the cities of Trichy and Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

General Information

*It is a daily day train. It covers the distance of 336.2 km in five hours thirty minutes and has only 9 limited stops. It is the most popular train for people travelling between Trichy and Chennai during the day time. The maximum speed of this train is seen in the Vriddhachalam-Villupuram sector at 110 km/h. It departs Trichy at 06.30 and arrives at Chennai Egmore at 12.00. Again, at Chennai Egmore it departs at 15.30 and arrives at Trichy at 20.45. The train also contains a pantry car for continuous food supply to passengers. The pantry coach is denoted as PS1. The name of the train commemorates the ancient Kingdom of Pallavas in Tamil Nadu.
