- Greenwood Subway Yard
Greenwood Yard is a
rail yard that services subway vehicles on the Bloor-Danforth line of the Toronto subway system.Trains from the Bloor-Danforth line access the yard from a spur line which branches off between Donlands and Greenwood stations. It was built in the mid
1960 s as the Bloor-Danforth line was being expanded and took load off from theDavisville Subway Yard . The site was previously the Harper's Dump, the city of Toronto's main landfill in the 1930s.It is the only major yard on the line, with
Vincent Subway Yard being a non-functioning/former yard. Besides servicing subway cars, Greenwood also services the Scarborough RT cars when the service is too complex to take place at the McCowan Yards on the RT line.Facilities
