* Yosemite Backup 8.5 SP1 - May 4th, 2007
Architecture
The Yosemite Backup software consists of having at least a "Master Server", where configuration of the software is stored in its proprietary database, along with information about data that has been backed up to different media, information about client machines, licensing information, etc. Optionally, one may also employ a "Media Server" in the data protection environment, which allows for a backup device (such as a hard disk, re-writable optical media,
Iomega Rev drive, ortape drive ) to be located and utilized on a computer that is separate from the Master Server. Data may be streamed to the Media Server instead of being streamed directly to the Master Server. The "Client Server" option allows data on servers that are not Media Servers or Master Servers to be backed up, and is essentially another running copy of Yosemite Backup which is installed on such a machine. In a given Yosemite Backup environment, all of the machines that are included belong to a "Storage Management Domain", where all its resources are managed by the Master Server.ee also
