Institute of Technology & Management, arguably one of the best Institutes in private sector in U.P.,Fact|date=February 2008 was established at Gorakhpur in the year 2000 by Shree Krishna Educational Society, under the chairmanship of late Banwari Lal Matanhelia. The present chairman is Shri Shyam Bihari Agrawal.The campus of the institute has been developed at National Highway 28, and is spread over 22 acres of land, having its frontage of 400 meters on roadside with an equivalent in depth. The institute is affiliated to U.P. Technical University
Lucknow and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi and the Govt. of U.P., for B.Tech., M.C.A. and B.Pharma. programs.The institute is located in GIDA (Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority) at AL-l, sector7 by the side of Gorakhpur -Lucknow road. It is at a distance of 10 km from Gorakhpur and is in a noise/pollution free Zone. The institute is fully augmented with modern facilities, housing, class rooms, equipped labs, library, workshops, faculty rooms, seminar rooms, academic and administrative sections etc. The campus is fully developed and has Boys & Girls Hostels, Faculty quarters, Directors residence, guesthouse, Canteen and play fields, transportation facilities etc.
Campus Infrastructure
Lecture halls are well furnished. Special efforts have been made to ensure that the classes are spacious, well lit and echo-proof, to facilitate the teaching-learning process. Stepped Lecture theatres can accommodate 90 students. Seminar rooms have capacity for 100+ students. Tutorial rooms can accommodate about 30-35 students for syndicate discussions.
Modern business is increasingly becoming dependent on information systems. The state-of-the-art computer labs also give an opportunity for hands-on experience. The ITM computer labs are equipped with the latest hardware and software programmes and Internet facilities. With a campus wide
wireless LAN , ITM is among the few institutions in the country that offer this convenience to its faculty and students. High speed (2 Mbit/s) Internet connectivity through a dedicated link with backups ensures an uninterrupted access to the information superhighway.There are 3 computer labs at ITM and a browsing area with a total of 470 machine of 2.0 GHz or above in all sections. ITM also provides computing facilities in Library. Other than the computers available for use by the students, the lab also uses various servers from
IBM ,Compaq andHP . ITM also has a sophisticated web based intranet system that offers continuous interaction between the faculty and students. The labs are networked using the
Windows NT servers. The computer labs are proficient in software such as C,C++ , Java, Oracle 9i,Visual Basic ,Visual C++ ,MSDN Library ,Borland ALM, Case tools, Multimedia software Suite,Visual FoxPro and other. The lab staff is well trained in the software. New software are continuously added to the lab. as the need arises.Labs & workshops
The Laboratories form an integral part of engineering education, because it is where students actually apply the theoretical knowledge gained in class. Therefore the laboratories at ITM are equipped with the latest laboratory equipment. The labs are large and spacious, giving student's ample room for project work. ITM has dedicated staff members who ensure that each student gets exposure on the lab floor.
Workshops are also an important element of modern-day education, because they give students an opportunity to create something with their own hands and understand exactly what it takes to make something work. The workshops at ITM have an excellent collection of tools and implements that can facilitate even intensive project work. In addition, ITM is procuring new tools and other equipment as and when necessary.
Facilities
The on-campus facilities for indoor and outdoor sports includes Badminton, Cricket, Table Tennis, Hockey, Football, Basket Ball, Chess and a number of other activities. The Institute supports the Students Sport Club and is achieving considerable success in the expansion of intramural and recreation programmes.
The Institute is able to offer advice on personal fitness programmes and conducts a series of regular fitness assessments within the Institute.
After screening the cream of talents, ITM, GIDA organizes competitions with other Institutes from time to time to realize the potential from in house competition. This spreads a feeling of unity through sports amongst the ITM fraternity.
Transportation
Transport facility is provided to the students and staff of the institute. The institute runs its own buses which provide ample opportunities to the students for outing and travel.
ervices
ITM is equipped with hostel facility for Boys and Girls separately, located close to the academic block in the campus itself. Single/ double/ triple seated rooms are available. Institute Management is very particular that the rooms are clean, airy, well ventilated, and hygienic. Each wing of the Hostel has student's recreation room. Internet connection is available in every room of hostel. Power supply is available 24 hours with standby generator of 100 KVA.
Mess Facility is an integral part of the hostel, which provides homely and comfortable stay with sense of camaraderie and fraternity amongst the students. Meals provided in the hostel mess are wholesome and nourishing. Mess caters to the tastes of the students of different regions and students with varied culinary preferences. However there are certain guidelines, which are to be followed while planning the mealing. Mess menu is planned and managed by the students in consultation with the caterer and the Management, who is responsible for managing the affairs of the hostel. The Mess Committee has representation of the students.
Water supply and electricity are available 24 hours a day. Incase of power failure generator sets are available for constant electric supply. Medical aid is available to the students within the campus. To cater to an emergency, ITM has a tie-up with a hospital nearby. The favorite haunt of the students of ITM is the large and well-designed cafeteria. It is equipped with modern cooking appliances, and serves hygienic food.
Library
The Library Information Services play a crucial role in teaching and learning activities and will Provide the source in individual reading and study. The Library is well stocked, covering varied range topics on all related fields. The central Library houses a collection of over 27524 volumes and subscribes to over 1500 E-Journals and 2.5 lakhs articles on-line Magazines, National & International in support of the curriculum & general technology related area. It has an E-Library supported by CDs and Floppy numbering more than 225.
Library also subscribed to wide range of national and international journals, magazines, periodicals, newspapers and information bulletins of world repute, so that students are equipped with wide knowledge in all professional areas of professional education, which gives an exposure to the students about the happenings in the world and awareness on international arena. The Institute is well connected with other libraries through Developing Library Network (DELNET) a Govt. sponsored service at the National Level.
