Prinyla

Prinyla or Prinila, also ending with -s (Greek: Πρινύλας) also with an y or a second i accented is a town in the northwestern part of the island of Corfu, Greece. It it also in the municipality of Agios Georgios. Its 2001 population was 92 for the settlement. Agios Georgios Pagon is located northwest of the city of Corfu near Pagi.

About Prinyla

The village is built in a panoramic setting above Agios Georgios Bay, it offers a view of the hills and mountains of the western and northwestern Corfu. It was part of the Byzantine Decarch and was mentioned in 1200. Common last name was Gialopsos (Γιαλοψός). It is a settlement with characteristic streets, houses and archives from the 17th century.

Prinyla has a central church, Agios Nikolaos, constructed in the 14th century, typical paths, a square ("plateia") and it is a preservable village. Its nearest school is in Agros, gymnasium (middle school), lyceum (secondary school) are in Agros.
