Until
January 1 ,2007 Ullerslev municipality was a municipality (Danish: "kommune") in the formerFunen County , on the east coast of the island ofFunen , in centralDenmark . The municipality covered an area of 54 km², and had a total population of 5,151 (2005). Its last mayor was Erik Christensen, a member of the "Socialdemokraterne", the Social Democratic Party.The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of
Ullerslev .The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a "kommunalreform" ("Municipality Reform") that merged a number of existing
parish es:
* Ellinge Parish
* Flødstrup Parish
* Skellerup Parish
* Ullerslev ParishUllerslev municipality ceased to exist as the result of "Kommunalreformen 2007" (the Municipality Reform of 2007). It was merged with Nyborg and Ørbæk municipalities to form a new Nyborg municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 278 km² and a total population of 31,009 (2005). The new municipality belongs to
