The Earth Tones

The Earth Tones

The Earth Tones are the University at Albany's premiere all-male a cappella singing group. Founded in 1998, the Earth Tones have been a mainstay in the canon of campus life at the university. The group is known for its work both on campus as well as within the community, including performances at local high schools and outreach work at facilities like the Albany Medical Center. Since their inception, the Earth Tones have been treated to a loyal and devoted student fan base that continues to grow each semester. The group stages two semester shows in the Recital Hall in the PAC (Performing Arts Center) at the university. In addition to these shows, the Earth Tones also perform at local venues and have even sung for the inaugural proceedings for New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer. In recent years, the group has attended the Northeast branch of the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella) competition, placing second for two consecutive years and advancing from Quarter Finals to Semi-Finals.
