Each of the three constituencies of
Stoke-on-Trent contain two of the historic ‘six towns’ of the Potteries.Burslem and Tunstall are Stoke-on-Trent North's historic towns.A local inquiry of the Boundary Commission For England was held in Stoke-on-Trent on 25th and 26th June 2002. To raise Stoke-on-Trent North's electorate to nearly 70,000, the inquiry recommended that the six wards in the north of the City - Burslem North, Burslem South, Chell and Packmoor, East Valley (consisting of most of
Smallthorne ,Sneyd Green , Milton andBaddeley Green ), Norton and Bradeley, and Tunstall - are joined by four wards from the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme -Butt Lane ,Kidsgrove ,Ravenscliffe , andTalke .The new Parliamentary constituency will become a reality once the Commission's recommendations have been accepted by Parliament.
