- BTC-T Peugeot 307
After two seasons of running the big and heavy
Peugeot 406 Coupe ,Vic Lee Racing (VLR) entered a new car in theBTCC . Designed by renownedFormula One designerSergio Rinland , thePeugeot 307 was the secondBTC Touring spec car built by theCoventry -based firm. As they were a private effort, the cars were converted from roadcars, with the second car originally being aHertz rental vehicle! After burning the midnight oil, both cars were ready for the first rounds of 2003 atMondello Park . In the hands ofDan Eaves ,Carl Breeze andDaniel Buxton , the 307 took a while to show it's true potential, but come mid-season, Eaves had taken several independent wins and the signs were looking good for 2004, until Eaves moved toTeam Dynamics , taking theHalfords sponsorship with him. The Eaves car did make a couple of sporadic outings in the next few years, but it really was a case of unfulfilled potential for the 307.Car 1
