About the song

The group's official website posted this review for their current single:

Another Paul's opinion about the song was interviewed for RealMusic:

Critical reception

Professional reviews were mainly positive. BBC gave a positive review for the song, saying it is "...a melancholy, slightly bluesy Tzuke-sung number accompanied by weaving guitar and haunting strings".cite web | title=BBC - Dance Review - Morcheeba, Dive Deep| url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/release/58p2/ | accessdate=2008-02-04] "Daily Mirror" rated the song four stars out of five. "It’s a brooding brew that captures the mood of dark LA paranoia conjured up by The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, putting it in a 21st century context". [cite web | title=Review: Morcheeba - Enjoy The Ride - Mirror.co.uk| url=http://www.mirror.co.uk/showbiz/entertainment/music/2008/01/31/review-morcheeba-enjoy-the-ride-89520-20304934/| accessdate=2008-02-04] Allmusic described "Enjoy the Ride", along with the "Blue Chair" as "the mellow highlight to curl up with." [cite web | title=Allmusic - Dive Deep Overview| url=http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:g9fexz9jldfe | accessdate=2008-09-04] "ZME Music" claimed the song as "...a beautiful, soothing synth pop ballad, in which Judie Tzuke’s R&B vocals resemble those of Beth Ross, to a extended; it feels however as the track is over-produced and over-polished." [cite web | title="ZME Music" Dive Deep Review| url=http://www.zmemusic.com/soul/morcheeba-dive-review/#more-1861| accessdate=2008-05-13] However, Orange UK gave a negative review and rated "Enjoy the Ride" only one star out of five saying "It is no sort of ride at all, all tasteful styling and a rhythm so mid-paced you barely notice it’s moving." Music video

The music video for "Enjoy the Ride" was produced by cartoon animator Joel Trussell and is an animated tale of bringing the dead back to life. The video is equally as calming as the song, as animated creatures and animals dressed in costumes travel through a cemetery, waking the dead.
