The campus is located in Chembur, a northern suburb of Mumbai, and stretches over a few acres of land.It is close to some residential complexes and near petroleum processing plant run by Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertlizers.
The Institute of Technology shares the campus with the college of Arts and Sciences and the college for Diplomas in Engineering. The campus comprises one big U-shaped building, a football field and a canteen that is situated in the neighbouring management college building.

The campus is equipped with a well maintained football ground (which doubles up as a cricket ground), a basketball court and a volleyball court. Additional facilities for high jump and long jump are also available. An annual sports competition is held in this college called as Sphurti, where all the student divisions compete in around 20 indoor and outdoor competitions.vesit has been participating in inter college festivals organised by various college across mumbai.
Techfest
VESIT organises an annual techfest every year called as Praxis. Praxis consists of various technically oriented competitions like
Robotics ,Dalal Street (Stock Market Simulation), Open Hardware and Open Software competitions and technical paper presentations. It also organises fun events like the treasure hunt and crystal maze along with adventure sports like wall climbing.Technology Day
Every year's Teacher's Day (September 5) is celebrated as Technology Day. On this occasion, technical paper presentations are organised and the best research paper of the college is selected.
Utkarsh 2007
VESIT organised a national conference in January, 2007 called "Utkarsh".

VESIT has been participating in many national and international competitions and it has also proved to be a forerunner in technological research and development.
Robotics
VESIT has participated in
Robocon , an annual competition held byDoordarshan , India. It is a national competition with colleges from all over India participating for a chance to participate in the Asia Pacific Competition held by ABU. VESIT has participated in Robocon since it has started and has always been successful in reaching the Quarter Finals of this competition. In Robocon 2004, VESIT won the National Competition and got an opportunity to participate in the Asia Pacific Event to be held at Seoul, South Korea.Elecrama
Elecrama is an international gathering of most of the reputed and professional industries. VESIT has participated in Elecrama with a student project in 2004 and 2006 when it won the Elecrama awards. In 2004, VESIT won the first prize for its project on "Green House Automation" and second for "Dexter, An Industrial Research Platform". In 2006, it won the first prize for "Reading Tool for the Blind" and third prize for "Prithvi2, A Robotic Research Platform". [http://www.pushkar.name/prithvi/]
Microsoft Imagine Cup
VESIT has been participating in the Microsoft Imagine Cup for more than 3 years now.
In 2003, a team from VESIT won the second prize at the Global Finals held in Barcelona. The team comprising of Tejas Shah, Yash Doshi & Abhijit Akhawe got the Asia Pacific prize from Bill Gates. They prototyped a health management system using Microsoft .NET.
In 2004, a team from VESIT qualified for the Global Finals held in South America. The team was Tejas Shah, Abhijit Akhawe, Sailesh Ganesh & Jyotsana Rathore.

In 2008, 3 VESIT teams qualified for National Finals of Imagine Cup. Of which 2 teams won 1st-2nd Positions in the competetion. One team represented India in Software Design Invitational International finals while another team won the International Finals held at Paris, in the Software Design Interoperability Award Category. This is the first time ever that an Indian team has won a first prize at the Imagine Cup.

The library provides a wide ranging collection of books which include university prescribed text books and reference material. Easily one of the most well stocked library amongst mumbai university engineering colleges. The library also subscribes to all major international journals and magazines. Some major non-technical magazines are also subscribed to. The library staff recently created a digital catalogue. The central library also has a reading hall which is open 6 days a week and on Sundays when exams are approaching.
