1998-2000
The duo of "Too Sexy" Brian Christopher and Scott "Too Hot" Taylor were originally a tag team known as Too Much. They began with an ambiguously gay gimmick. The team feuded with fellow light-heavyweight wrestlers such as
TAKA Michinoku and aided Jerry "The King" Lawler (Christopher's father) in his feud withAl Snow .In June 1999, Christopher became Grandmaster Sexay, Taylor became Scotty Too Hotty (also spelled as Scotty "2" Hotty) and Too Cool was born, debuting on television during the
June 13 1999 episode of "Sunday Night HEAT". They originally remained heels, but in late 1999, around the the time Rikishi Phatu joined the team, they turned face due to growing fan popularity. Too Cool's new gimmick of a pair of hip-hop fans involved the duo dance around the ring while lights flashed and dance music played, an act that quickly became popular with fans.A famous moment came when the trio were all participants in the 2000 Royal Rumble.cite web|url=http://slam.canoe.ca/SlamWrestlingPPV/jan24_royalrumble.html|title=Rocky wins the Rumble A bloody Triple H defeats Cactus Jack|date=2000-01-17|last=Powell|first=John|accessdate=2008-10-05|publisher=SLAM! Sports] They were the only participants in the ring at the time so they danced to their music while the rumble was still going on. This was followed by Rikishi eliminating both of his teammates. Nothing ever came about from him doing this. Soon after this, Christopher got injured, and while he was recuperating, Taylor won the Light Heavy Championship. Their success would peak later in the year when Taylor and Christopher defeated
Edge and Christian for the WWF Tag Team Championship on an episode of RAW is WAR onMay 29 , 2000,cite web|url=http://www.wwe.com/inside/titlehistory/worldtagteam/304454132112113|title=History Of The World Tag Team Championship - Too Cool|date=May 29, 2000|accessdate=2008-01-30|publisher=WWE] while Rikishi would defeatChris Benoit for the Intercontinental Championship onJune 20 .Rikishi left the group after his heel turn in late 2000.
2001
The group ceased to exist in 2001 when Taylor was sidelined in 2001 with a broken ankle, and Christopher was released from the WWF in 2001 after he was detained while attempting to cross the
Canada–United States border border with illegal drugs in his possession.2004
Rikishi would eventually become a face again and he and Taylor would later team together on the renamed WWE SmackDown! brand to win the WWE Tag Team Titles in 2004. Rikishi would eventually be released shortly after the team lost the tag team titles.
United Wrestling Federation (2007-Present)
