The Way Too Cool 50 Kilometer run is an annual ultramarathon run that starts and ends at Cool, California. The race course typically will go on and off the Auburn County Trail. The typical course will have greater than 7000 ft (2100 m) of vertical change along its length. Most of the course is held on single-track trails and fire roads.
The race takes place in March. It's a very popular race, and the registration that opens in December fills up very quickly.
The race has a very high completion rate with greater than 90% of the starters finishing every year that the race has been held as of 2006.
History
The race has been run since 1994, where there was a recorded 332 starters.
