Beverley's career with the BBC has spanned over 20 years - much of that time spent on regional news. She began in the mid 80s as a reporter for Wales Today. She progressed to reading short news bulletins and occasionally presenting the main 5:35pm programme. By 1988, she moved to
BBC West inBristol and became a presenter ofPoints West . After a few years, she moved north to Newcastle and worked on the North East and Cumbria edition of Look North. This was followed by a stint atSouth Today in Southampton.Then, in 2001, she became Health Correspondent for the then-new
South East Today service inTunbridge Wells , serving Kent and East Sussex. However, changes to the presentation team caused by the resignation of then-main presenterLaurie Mayer meant that Beverley was promoted to become main presenter.Alongside BBC regional news, Beverley has worked on
