K.AbishekbarenWebsite Kumaraguruparan's Web Nalliah Kumaraguruparan (Tamil: நல்லையா குமரகுருபரன்)(Sinhala: නල්ලය්යා කුමරගුරුපරන්)is a Sri Lankan politician, ex.member of Colombo Municipal Council, currently an elected member of the Western Provincial Council of Sri Lanka & the current Deputy Leader & General Secretary of the Western People's Front, a political party in Sri Lanka, Former General Secretary of All Ceylon Tamil Congress, one of the oldest political parties of SriLanka and presently a member of the All Party Representatives Committee of SriLanka.[1]

Personal life
He is a son of late Mr.Muthuthambi Nalliah, a Chartered Accountant & late Mrs. Sakuntala Nalliah (Daughter of late Tambiah Mudaliyar Sabaratnam (T M Sabaratnam) - Former Member of the Legislative Council of Ceylon). He gained his primary education at Vaitheeswara College & His Secondary & Higher Education at Jaffna Hindu College. He completed his Diploma in Accountancy in India at ITI on scholarship and Computer Education at the Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology and then qualified into various professional studies inclding BComm(Fin.Mgt) and other. And presently he is a Chartered Business Administrator by profession.
He is married to Rathee Mahalingasivam, and has three children. Elder son is Ashokbharan Nalliah Kumaraguruparan (Student - Royal College Colombo - Law Student Northumbria University), Youngest son is Abishekbaren Kumaraguruparan (Student - Royal College Colombo), and Daughter is Ahranyakumari Kumaraguruparan (Student - Ladies College, Colombo).
Political career
He first entered into politics through All Ceylon Tamil Congress at the age of 17 in Jaffna. His grandfather T. M. Sabaratnam was a founder member of All Ceylon Tamil Congress and a former Member of the Legislative Council of Ceylon. Involved in active politics with All Ceylon Tamil Congress later Kumaraguruparan became the Colombo Branch Secretary & then the Official Spokesman of All Ceylon Tamil Congress and contested all the Parliamentary elections from 1989. After the demise of Late."Maamanithar"Kumar Ponnambalam he was appointed as the General Secretary (Leader) of the Party in the year 2000. In 2003 after amany inner-party conflicts he was appointed as a Senior Vice President by Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam. Then in 2004 he resigned from All Ceylon Tamil Congress and joined Western People's Front(currently known as Democratic People's Front) a political party led by Mano Ganesan at a ceremony convened by Western People's Front at Nippon Hotel. He was appointed as Deputy Leader of the Western People's Front in 2004 and then in 2006 He was also given the post of General Secretary of the party. In the 2006 "Colombo Municipal Elections" he was elected to the Council. In 2009 Western Provincial Council Elections he contested from the Colombo District in the United National Front (An Alliance of UNP & Supporting Parties) and was elected to the Western Provincial Council[2][3]
Kentucky Colonel Award
He was awarded with the "Kentucky Colonel" Award by the Governor of the State of Kentucky (USA) in 2007 by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky Ernie Fletcher.
