Thomas ("Tom") Matera (born September 23, 1976) best known as Antonio Thomas is a professional wrestler. He is best known for his stint with World Wrestling Entertainment on the RAW brand as one half of the "Heart Throbs."

Career

Eastern Wrestling Alliance (2004-2005)

On January 23, 2004 in Southbridge, Massachusetts, Antonio Thomas and Johnny Heartbreaker (Romeo Roselli) defeated Cueball and Nick McKenna to win the Eastern Wrestling Alliance (EWA) Tag Team Championships.

World Wrestling Entertainment (2005-2006)

In February 2005, Thomas and Roselli signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and were sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).

In April 2005, William Regal and Tajiri successfully defended the World Tag Team Championships against the debuting Romeo (Roselli) and Antonio (Thomas), known collectively as The Heart Throbs. They would go on to participated in Tag-Team Turmoil match for the World Tag Team Championship at WWE Backlash.

The Heart Throbs, who have portrayed heels, mainly appeared on the RAW B-show, Heat. They have had short-lived feuds with Eugene and William Regal, Hurricane and Rosey, and V-Squared (Val Venis and Viscera).

During the first episode of HEAT in 2006 the pair turned face and began entertaining the crowd by bringing two "hot chicks" into the ring and getting them to dance.

On WWE.com, on February 10, 2006, it was announced that WWE had come to terms on the release of the Heart Throbs.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2007)

On March 11, 2007, Thomas and Roselli appeared on the TNA Destination X pay-per-view as Christy Hemme's mystery team. Renamed as The Heartbreakers, they lost to The Voodoo Kin Mafia (B.G. James and Kip James). This would be their only appearance with the company.

Independent Circuit

In 2008, Thomas can be seen wrestling across Massachusetts in such promotions as New England Championship Wrestling and Squared Circle Wrestling(²cw) outside Syracuse, NY
