Nicholson Expedition of 1711

The Nicholson Expedition of 1711 was a failed British land expedition against Quebec during Queen Anne's War.

In 1709, Francis Nicholson had previously led a failed land expedition up the New York Champlain valley against Quebec. In 1711, a second attempt by the British was made with a combined naval and land attack. Several hundred Iroquois warriors participated in the expedition. When Nicholson's expedition had got as far at Lake George when news was received of the retreat of the Walker Expedition. Nicholson called off his associated land attack.
