In Pakistan, driving licenses can be obtained by applying to any traffic police office/licensing authority in applicant's place of abode.
Any person male/female of the minimum age of 18 years can apply for a driving license. The applicant must show his/her National Identity Card and proof of residence of the area in which a candidate is applying and must be able to read a car number plate from a distance of 20.5 meter (65'). Different kinds of driving licenses are issued across Pakistan. Driving licenses issued in Karachi city which is part of the Sindh province are considered most valuable and are most difficult to get. Some are as basic as a laminated piece of paper with the essential information and photo of the licensee with a stamp and signature of a high ranking traffic police official.
Candidates have to pass a theory and practical test to obtain driving license.
