DishCOMM

DishCOMM is a technology used by the satellite television provider Dish Network. It uses the electrical wiring in a home to connect satellite receivers to one another for the purpose of sharing phone connectivity. It can share CallerID information to receivers which are not connected to a home's phone line for displaying on screen. It is a common way to avoid having to run a new phone line to extra receivers in the home.
