An only child (she has a half-sister, a half-brother and a stepsister), she was raised in
Pimlico with her mother, a feminist and active member of the women's movement, and her mother's long-term partner, Gareth Stedman Jones. She attended Pimlico Comprehensive where she was generally regarded as a right pain. Young Abigail often marched with her mother. Sally Alexander was involved in the infamous flour-bombing of the 1970 Miss World contest. Alexander studied atRuskin College and taught modern history atGoldsmiths College .Career
After school Abigail spent a year in Italy where she was in a car accident. When she returned to England she decided to attend
RADA . This is where she meet her long term life partnerNigel Whitmey . She worked at theRoyal Exchange Theatre stage production of "Pride and Prejudice " in1991 . She has also appeared in films and television.Children

1997 she gave birth to her daughter, Molly Mae Whitmey. Shortly after Molly's birth, Abigail starred in aBBC1 production of "Vanity Fair ". In2003 she gave birth to her second daughter, Talia.Links
