Robert Sokal (born
January 13 ,1926 , inVienna ,Austria ) is anAustria n-American biostatistician and anthropologist. Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the State University of Stony Brook, New York, Sokal is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and theAmerican Academy of Arts and Sciences .
