Eret is an unincorporated community in Wayne County, Mississippi, United States.

Geography

Eret is located at coord|31|28|13|N|88|28|56|W|region:US_type:city (31.470167 -88.482245), Eret lies at 194 feet (59 m) above sea level.

History

The town was named after the late wife of Fred Clark, who owned most of the land in the area. Fred later married Nellie Mae Faulkner (nee Russell) (d. 1991) who moved to the town with her daughter Marianne (d. 2007). Marianne Faulkner and town resident Ed Taylor had a son on June 14 1955. Ed Taylor resided in Eret until his death in 2006.
