Construction was started in the summer of 1893 and finished in June 1896. The entire line, including track, cars, locomotives and buildings cost about NOK 1 million, and was very simple. The systems three passenger cars were the smallest in the country with only 19 seating places each. The line was dominated by
lumber transport, while passenger transport was minimal. The line was closed in 1953.
