Amaryllis Knight

Amaryllis Knight, (1976) is the co-owner of Falcon Motorcycles which she started with her fiancee, the custom builder Ian Barry. She appeared on the ITV television series, "Adrenaline Junkie" and "The Mongol Rally." She currently operates Falcon Motorcycles LLC, in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, California. Amaryllis is the daughter of Andrew Knight, former editor of The Economist Magazine, and his then wife Begum Sabiha Rumani Malik [http://search.ft.com/ftArticle?queryText=%22Conde+Nast%22&id=071213000180&ct=0 Financial Times] ] the former director and design director of Foster and Partners Architecture Firm. The marriage ended in divorce; in 1991, after having another daughter, Afsaneh Knight. Amaryllis's mother subsequently married the architect Norman Foster, Baron Foster of Thames Bank; Knight's stepfather until 1998. Humanitarian Work

Amaryllis has promoted humanitarian causes throughout the world, and is noted for her work with refugees through "The Next Right Thing", where she escorted refugee children in need of medical attention, from West African refugee camp facilities into the United States to receive medical attention. In 2006, she was one of a small group of Los Angeles women who started "The Name Campaign" with Creative Visions [http://www.creativevisions.org/name/organization.htm The Name Campaign] ] , a non-profit organization that brought about attention to the crisis of the Child Soldiers in Northern Uganda. The group sought to bring about awareness and end the conflict in Northern Uganda through collecting the names of thousands of children abducted by Warlord Joseph Kony and imprinting each one on a distinctive silver necklace with a green band, and was featured on shows such as The Oprah Winfrey Show for having helped bring the Northern Ugandan crisis to International attention.
