He is probably most well known as Bixby in Wagon Train and Lee Reinhard in Dragnet. He also appeared in such films as The Birds, I Was a Teenage Werewolf, Crime of Passion, Blue Denim, Wild River, Advise and Consent, Perry Mason, and Hawaii. His last film was Emperor of the North Pole. He also appeared on Gunsmoke, The Odd Couple, Sheriff of Cochise, State Trooper, Happy, Kentucky Jones, The Andy Griffith Show and Apple's Way.
He died of natural causes at the age of eighty-five.
