Gigantinho

The gymnasium of sports 'Gigantinho' is the third largest in Brazil and was inaugurated on 04 November 1973. Located in the Complex Beira-Rio, has a built area of 7,200 square meters and a kind of futsal, 36m x 18m. The capacity of the gym is for 12,864 people for games and 14,586 for concerts, in addition, 11 cabins intended for the press, 13 bathrooms (six women, six men and one for disabled), six changing rooms, 11 bars and six gates of access. The gym houses the Foundation for Education and Culture of Sport Club Internacional (FECI), where the library is located.

The Gigantinho was the scene of numerous events and concerts, including, Paralamas do Sucesso, Rappa, Titans, Jota Quest, New Clothes, Ultraje the Rigor, Elba Ramalho, Roberto Carlos, Gilberto Gil among national artists, and Roxette, B.B. King, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rick Wakeman, Genesis, The Cure, A-There is, Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Iron Maiden, Bill Halley, Australian Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Harlem Globetrotters, Disney on Parade, Holiday On Ice, Circo of Moscow, Bolshoi Ballet,RBD will perform with their "World Tour Empezar Desce Cero 08", among the international artists, as well as events such as the World Social Forum and the World Forum on Education.
