Joe Walter (footballer)

Joseph "Joe" Dorville Walter (born August 16, 1895 in Eastville, Bristol, died 23 May 1995) was a former professional footballer, who played for Bristol Rovers, Huddersfield Town and Taunton Town. He was the last surviving player to play under Herbert Chapman while at Huddersfield. In Huddersfield's final game at Leeds Road he was the guest of honour. In 1994, he watched two games featuring Huddersfield Town. He saw Huddersfield's final game on April 30 and near his home against Bristol Rovers at Twerton Park.
