Rosli Mansor (born March 19,1969 is a Singapore musician, guitarist and composer. He released his first rock instrumental album, "Dragged", in January 2007.

Early life

Rosli Mansor was born the youngest in his family. He owned his first electric guitar on his 15th birthday. The purchase was made possible with his savings earned from his jobs as a newspaper delivery boy, a paper cutter at a local print shop and cash from his late mother. It was also on his 15th birthday that Rosli made the decision to be a musician.

After leaving school, Rosli got involved in music and got a few friends to start a band. Career

Juggling between his early jobs as a display artist and playing at gigs, Rosli eventually chose to be a musician as his career path.

In 1990, he became a full-time staff at the local Yamaha Music School while continuing to perform at gigs in the evenings. Besides teaching at the school, he also teaches guitar as a private instructor. He has played at popular local night spots such as Balaclava, Ballymoon, Harry's Bar, Indochine, Muddy Murphy's and One Rochester. He had also worked with several local musicians such as pop singer-songwriter Tanya Chua, ex-Mediacorp actress Evelyn Tan, Trisno Ishak of now-defunct R&B/hip-hop group Urban Xchange, etc.

Other than playing the role of a teacher and musician, he was an assistant producer and sound engineer for a local Malay compilation album, "Tarian Melayu Tradisional".

Greatly influenced by the likes of Jeff Beck, Allan Holdsworth and Scott Henderson, Rosli entered the studio to work on his debut rock instrumental album, "Dragged", in 2005. The album, under the label Snoots Music Group, took two years in the making and was officially launched at The Art House's Earshot Cafe on 27 January, 2007.

The song "Pakoo Boomi" from his rock instrumental album "Dragged" was featured in a compilation CD released by local magazine, LIME in March 2008. In June 2008, Yamaha Singapore signed Rosli to be their endorsee for their top of the range acoustic guitar, the LL36XC.

He is currently managed by terraBox management.

Gear

Rosli uses a wide range of guitars such as the Valley Arts Custom Pro electric guitar. He owns other guitars such as two Steinberger M series models, two Godin Multiac SA in nylon and steel, an Ernie Ball Axis,, a custom-made double neck guitar (with one fretless neck) and a fretless guitar.

He uses other equipment such as Morley's Wah-wah pedal, amplifiers by Hughes & Kettner and Marshall and pre-amplifers by Mesa Boogie. The normal Sahasrara pedal is in black but the RM edition is in white.

Personal life
