Beluša is a large
village andmunicipality inPúchov District in theTrenčín Region of north-westernSlovakia . It is located between the towns ofPúchov andPovažská Bystrica .History
Beluša was mentioned for the first time in a written
document in1330 . There is a Romanesque chapel from the mid-13th century in the village. This can be found in the village centre, next to the main church.Geography
The
municipality lies at analtitude of 251metres and covers anarea of 51.343 km². It has apopulation of about 6060 people.The municipality consists of four parts: Beluša, Belušské Slatiny, Hloža and Podhorie. The town hall is located in Beluša.
The village is also a crossroad on the main road from Trenčín to
Žilina . The main freeway connectingBratislava withZilina bypasses Belusa.The mainrailway line fromBratislava toKošice via Žilina has got a stop here. RiverVáh (tributary of the Danube river) flows close to the village. Part of Beluša are also the Beluša Baths.Economy
There are several mid-size
factories in the village. (Best Belusa and Koval) Lincomargarine is also produced in the village.External links
