Zoni (Greek: Ζώνη, Bulgarian: Чаушкьой "Čauš’koy", Turkish: "Cauşkoy") also with an o accented is a village in the northwestern part of the
Evros Prefecture in Greece located west ofTurkey andEdirne , southeast ofOrmenio andSvilengrad , Bulgaria, north ofAlexandroupoli and east ofKurdzhali , Bulgaria,Athens , the Greek capital is nearly 1,100 km northeast. Therapeio is in the municipality ofTrigono . Zoni is linked with the road connecting GR-51/E85 (Alexandroupoli - Soufli - Orestiada - Ormenio) near Ormenio andKomara .Bulgaria is bordered a few kilometres to the west. Its 2001 population was 238 for the village and 881 for the municipal district. The eastern portion are flat, the remainder of the area are hilly.ettlements

History
The village was first founded by the Ottoman Turks and
Bulgaria ns also inhabited the area which made up of around 3/4 to 4/5 of the population until after separating from Bulgaria. The village finally annexed to Greece and had no Greeks until the Greco-Turkish War in 1922 by refugees fleeing Eastern Thrace and Asia Minor and inhabited, the Bulgarian population pushed northwest and north.After
World War II and theGreek Civil War , many of its buildings were rebuilt. Electricity and automobiles arrived in the 1960s, it was linked with pavement in the late-20th century, television arrived in the 1980s. Internet and computers arrived in the late-1990s. The village's population lost by 3/4 between 1981 and 1991 and 4/5 between 1981 and 2001.Other
