Juulchin

Juulchin

The Juulchin Foreign Tourism Corporation was established in 1954 as the State tourism company of then-Communist Mongolia, originally serving only tourists from the USSR, Cuba, and other communist nations. In 1962 visas for travel in Mongolia were issued to foreign tourists for the first time. Juulchin organised hunting trips in the Gobi and also tourist camps with nomad families.

With the ending of communism in Mongolia, Juulchin Travel was privatised and is now wholly owned. It continues to be by far the largest tourism company in Mongolia, dealing with trekking through the plains and deserts of Mongolia
