December 20 ,1909 -September 17 ,1953 ), was an Imperial Consort of the last Emperor of China's Qing Dyasty, the Xuan-Tong Emperor Puyi.Along with the Xuan-Tong Emperor, and Empress Wan Rong, Wen Xiu left the Forbidden City in 1924, and moved to the Zhang Garden in
Tianjin . She filed and was granted a divorce in 1931. Wen Xiu never remarried.Following the divorce, the Xuan-Tong Emperor, urged by former Qing courtiers, stripped Wen Xiu of her imperial titles.
In 2004, the descendants of the
Qing Imperial House granted posthumous titles to the Xuan-Tong Emperor, his two wives and two consorts. However, they did not give Wen Xiu a posthumous title, citing the fact that she was "demoted to commoner" following her divorce.
