- Kakovatos
Kakovatos is a small
village located on the shore of westernPeloponnesus and in the Prefecture ofIlia and next toZaharo . It has 3 restaurants (Greek Taverna ) two on the beach shore and the other south of the village but also on the sea shore. There is also a "pita place" which sellspita withsouvlaki and things of your own choice, includingvegetarian pitas. There are 2 "mini markets" selling everyday items. There is a central plateia and a small church. There is also a school for children 1st-6th which teaches Greek. There is also a football pitch on which the villages team which plays in the D league. Villagers are also permitted to use the football pitch. Kakovatos has apopulation of around 50 people although skypeaks at around 400 during the summer. The nearest hospital is inPirgos , a 30 minute drive away. Kakovatos is also lucky to be the one of the only villages which didn't get touched by the fires of2007 . There is also fruit and oil which reaches major cities such as Patra and evenAthens , located 280 km away, 3-5 hour drive. Kakovatos is located north of the village of the gods Olympia.
