Kakovatos

Kakovatos is a small village located on the shore of western Peloponnesus and in the Prefecture of Ilia and next to Zaharo. It has 3 restaurants (Greek Taverna) two on the beach shore and the other south of the village but also on the sea shore. There is also a "pita place" which sells pita with souvlaki and things of your own choice, including vegetarian pitas. There are 2 "mini markets" selling everyday items. There is a central plateia and a small church. There is also a school for children 1st-6th which teaches Greek. There is also a football pitch on which the villages team which plays in the D league. Villagers are also permitted to use the football pitch. Kakovatos has a population of around 50 people although skypeaks at around 400 during the summer. The nearest hospital is in Pirgos, a 30 minute drive away. Kakovatos is also lucky to be the one of the only villages which didn't get touched by the fires of 2007. There is also fruit and oil which reaches major cities such as Patra and even Athens, located 280 km away, 3-5 hour drive. Kakovatos is located north of the village of the gods Olympia.
